Food & Farming |
Please note that activities may vary slightly from
those listed here. These activities also vary dependent upon the
time of year. On site we also have chickens, geese, ducks, pigs,
sheep and so often there are activities related to the animals which
can be enjoyed - this is very seasonal!
Nutrition & Healthy Eating
Half day |
Learn about the importance of nutrition and healthy eating.
Using the produce of our gardens or other locally sourced
produce, prepare a balanced and nutritious meal for the
children to eat. |
Local Farm Visit
Half day |
A visit to the local Dairy will allow the children to see
milking time at first hand. |
Making Compost/Preserves...
Half day |
Depending upon the time of year, the children will be
involved in an activity which uses the produce around us to
make something useful! This will demonstrate how much can be
re-used rather than allowed to go to waste. |
Paint a Plant Pot
Evening activity |
Paint a pot with your own design, plant it with a plant and
take it home to watch it grow. |
